Regular Season Round 2: Sosnowiec - Poznan 92-88
Date: October 15, 2023
Very expected game when Poznan lost on the road to Sosnowiec 92-88 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sosnowiec made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Ghanian-American forward Batabe Zempare (191-1994, college: CSUB, agency: LBM Management) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and French guard Zoe Wadoux (178-2001) supported her with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Even 18 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals by American point guard Chloe Wells (173-1992, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Poznan. International Agnieszka Skobel (180-1989) added 20 points and 4 assists for the guests. Five Sosnowiec and four Poznan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sosnowiec will meet at home Torun in the next round. Poznan will play against Gorzow Wlkp. in Gorzow Wielkopolski and hope to win that game.
