Very expected game in Lappeenranta where Leppavaaran P. (0-3) was crushed by LrNMKY (3-0) 112-69 on Thursday. The game without a history. LrNMKY led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Leppavaaran P.'s 30. LrNMKY forced 32 Leppavaaran P. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Leppavaaran P.'s players. The best player for the winners was center Eemeli Salmi (200) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Yonis Daud (184) chipped in 14 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Five LrNMKY players scored in double figures. LrNMKY's coach Aubrey Conerly felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Elmo Uitto (185-2002) who recorded 23 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Atte Peltonen (196-2005) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively. LrNMKY will meet Espoo Basket (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Leppavaaran P. will play against Pantterit and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
