Regular Season Round 3: Thor Thorl - Haukar 84-81

A very close game took place in Thorlakshofn between Thor Thorl and Haukar. Thor Thorl (2-1) got a very close home victory over Haukar (1-2). Thor Thorl managed to escape with a 3-point win 84-81 on Thursday evening. Thor Thorl dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Haukar's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Haukar's players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Darwin Davis (178-1993, college: Xavier) who scored 20 points and 7 assists. Guard Tomas Thrastarson (197-2005, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Five Haukar players scored in double figures. Haukar's coach Mate Dalmay rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Thor Thorl will meet Hottur (#6) in the next round. Haukar will play against Hamar and hope to win that game.
