Regular Season Round 6: Orchies - Besancon 73-94

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Besancon (2-4) outplayed higher ranked Orchesien BC (3-3) in Orchies 94-73 on Friday. American Mykal Riley (198-1985, college: Alabama) notched 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Brahim Dohou (194-1999) supported him with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Besancon players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 11 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists by point guard Aurelien Rigaux (178-1988) did not help to save the game for Orchesien BC. Lithuanian center Giedrius Bergaudas (207-2000) added 15 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Besancon moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Orchesien BC dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Besancon will meet Feurs (#13) on the road in the next round. Orchesien BC will play against Saint Vallier (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
