Regular Season Round 8: Dijon - Chalon/Saone 88-60
Date: October 20, 2023
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Dijon and 15th ranked Chalon/Saone had identical 2-5 record. This time Dijon used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Chalon 88-60 on Friday night. Dijon forced 29 Chalon/Saone turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Nathan Vincennes (200-2003) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Evane Ortiz-Wintenberger (188-2005) supported him with 15 points and 5 steals. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by forward Albert Shungu (201-2003) did not help to save the game for Chalon/Saone. Center Yanis Tonnellier (213-2004) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four Chalon/Saone players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dijon (3-5) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Levallois and Strasbourg. Loser Chalon/Saone dropped to the sixteenth position with six games lost. Dijon will meet at home league's second-placed Bourg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Chalon/Saone will play against Paris BA (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
