Regular Season Round 3: Grindavik - Tindastoll 96-106

Very expected game when Grindavik (0-3) was defeated at home by Tindastoll (3-0) 106-96 on Friday. Tindastoll had a 36-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Thorir Thorbjarnarson (198-1998, college: Nebraska) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 16 assists. The former international point guard Sigtryggur Bjornsson (180-1993, college: St.Mary's) chipped in 32 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Olafur Olafsson (194-1990) who recorded 24 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Dedrick Basile (178-1994, college: CSUB) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Five Tindastoll and four Grindavik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tindastoll will meet at home Valur (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Grindavik will play against Breidablik (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
