Regular Season Round 5: Lahti - Kobrat 88-83

Lahti's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Kobrat (2-3) 88-83. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-16. But Kobrat won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Lahti won last quarter 25-21. They made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. American point guard Harrison Cleary (185-1997, college: UMC) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists for the winners and swingman Erik Sajantila (195-2001, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Joona Tuomala (197-1997) responded with 24 points and American forward KJ Buffen (203-2000, college: UAB) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lahti (1-4) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Bisons. Kobrat at the other side keeps the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Vilpas. Lahti will play against higher ranked KTP-Basket (#7) in Kotka in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kobrat will play at home against Korihait and hopes to get back on the winning track.
