Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Le Mans (3-5) was edged at home by fifth ranked Cholet Basket (5-2) 88-85 on Saturday. Cholet Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by center Neal Sako (210-1998) who scored that evening 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Dutch forward Emmanuel Nzekwesi (203-1997, college: ORU) supported him with 13 points. Cholet Basket's coach Laurent Vila used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by guard Abdoulaye NDoye (198-1998) did not help to save the game for Le Mans. American guard DeVante Jones (186-1998, college: Michigan) added 15 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the hosts. Four Cholet Basket and five Le Mans players scored in double figures. Cholet Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nancy. Loser Le Mans keeps the thirteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Dijon and Le Portel. Cholet Basket will meet at home JSF Nanterre (#6) in the next round. Le Mans will play against Chorale de Roanne (#16) and hope to secure a win.
