There was a minor upset in Piacenza where 4th placed Piombino (3-2) was defeated by twelfth ranked Piacentina (3-2) 89-72 on Sunday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Piacentina forced 20 Piombino turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Martino Criconia (196-1998) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Slovenian power forward Jure Besedic (207-1992) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Mirco Turel (195-1994) produced 22 points and Montenegrin Zdravko Okiljevic (202-2001) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Piombino players scored in double figures.
