Regular Season Round 5: Zadar - Zabok 97-84
Date: October 22, 2023
Bottom-ranked Zabok (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 97-84 loss to leader Zadar (5-0) in Zadar on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Slovenian Petar Vujacic (196-2000, agency: AltusBasket) stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and Serbian guard Arijan Lakic (197-2000) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Antonio Crnjevic (202-1994) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Dino Cinac (201-1988) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Zadar and four Zabok players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zadar have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Split. Loser Zabok still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Bosco. Zadar will meet Bosco (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zabok will play against Alkar and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
