Regular Season Round 8: Strasbourg - Monaco 67-83
Date: October 22, 2023
Betclic ELITE ProA top team - Monaco (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat twelfth ranked SIG Strasbourg (3-4) 83-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SIG Strasbourg. The winners were led by the former international guard Terry Tarpey (195-1994, college: William & Mary) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Matthew Strazel (182-2002) supported him with 19 points. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by American Phil Booth (190-1995, college: Villanova) did not help to save the game for SIG Strasbourg. The former international Hugo Invernizzi (198-1993) added 15 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monaco have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Loser SIG Strasbourg keeps the twelfth place with four games lost. Monaco will meet at home Gravelines-Dunkerque (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SIG Strasbourg will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#7) and hope to secure a win.
