Regular Season Round 6: Keflavik - Snaefell 76-65

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Snaefell (0-6) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Keflavik (6-0) 76-65 on Tuesday. Keflavik outrebounded Snaefell 42-30 including 36 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Keflavik made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan Daniela Morillo (179-1995, college: Okla City) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Italian guard Elisa Pinzan (173-1999, college: Maryland) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Keflavik's coach Hordur Vilhjalmsson used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovenian guard Eva Rupnik (177-1992, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Shawnta Shaw (157, college: Jax State, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Five Keflavik and four Snaefell players scored in double figures. Keflavik have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Newly promoted Snaefell still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Breidablik. Keflavik will meet league's second-placed Grindavik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
