Very important is a road loss of third ranked Pyrinto Ak.B (2-2) against seventh ranked Nokia Ak. (1-3) on Friday night. Visiting Pyrinto Ak.B was crushed by Nokia Ak. in Nokia 114-73. The game without a history. Nokia Ak. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Pyrinto Ak.B's 30 and made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Nokia Ak. forced 27 Pyrinto Ak.B turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Alvin Cannady III (206, college: National Park) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Hugo Boman (200-2002) who added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Eelis Mannisto (176-2005) responded with 15 points and 9 assists and point guard Aku Koiranen (184-2005) scored 15 points. Five Nokia Ak. and four Pyrinto Ak.B players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nokia Ak. maintains seventh position with 1-3 record. Loser Pyrinto Ak.B keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with PeU-Basket and MuKi. Nokia Ak. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pyrinto Ak.B will play against Kataja Ta. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
