Very important is a road loss of second ranked Korihait (4-2) against eighth ranked Kobrat (3-3) on Friday night. Visiting Korihait was defeated by Kobrat in a tough game in Lapua 73-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Korihait. Korihait was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Point guard Taz Sherman (184-1999, college: WVU) notched 15 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and forward Theo Akwuba (211-2000, college: Ole Miss) supported him with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Four Kobrat players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds by power forward Javion Ogunyemi (206-1995, college: Siena) did not help to save the game for Korihait. Swingman Jalen Jackson (198-1994, college: UALR, agency: Diamond Sports) added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Kobrat moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Korihait at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with KTP-Basket. Kobrat will play against higher ranked KTP-Basket (#4) in Kotka in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Korihait will play at home against Kataja and hopes to get back on the winning track.
