There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Vigarano (0-4) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Rovigo (2-2) 67-54 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sara Zanetti (185-2004) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds and Swiss guard Shannon Hatch (180-1993, college: Calgary) who added 15 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Cassandra Gordon (180-2000, college: LMU) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian guard Amaiquen Siciliano (170-1999, college: Bishop's) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Vigarano's coach Andrea Castelli rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Rovigo moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Vigarano at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Rovigo will meet at home higher ranked Matelica (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vigarano will play against Alpo (#7) in Verona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
