Very expected game when 17th ranked Breogan Lugo (1-6) lost to seventh ranked Unicaja (4-3) in Malaga 70-87 on Saturday. Unicaja dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Breogan Lugo's 24. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian-German Nihad Djedovic (197-1990) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 4 steals. American guard Tyson Carter (193-1998, college: MSU) accounted for 11 points for the winning side. Lithuanian center Martynas Sajus (208-1996) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Lithuanian swingman Matas Jogela (201-1998) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Breogan Lugo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Unicaja. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Breogan Lugo lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Granada and Palencia. Unicaja will meet at home Monbus Obradoiro (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Breogan Lugo will play against FC Barcelona (#3) and hope to win that game.
