Regular Season Round 4: Polkowice - Bydgoszcz 95-71
Date: October 28, 2023
There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Bydgoszcz (0-4) was crushed on the road by top-ranked Polkowice (3-0) 95-71 on Saturday. Polkowice made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Bydgoszcz turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian guard Zala Friskovec (179-1999) who helped to win the game recording 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Zuzanna Kulinska (178-2001, college: McNeese St.) who added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her eight free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Keke Calloway (170-1997, college: Mercer) responded with 24 points and Canadian center Oceana Hamilton (193-1995, college: Northwestern) scored 2 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Polkowice have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Bydgoszcz at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Pruszkow. Polkowice will meet at home bottom-ranked Pruszkow (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bydgoszcz will have a break next round.
