Very expected game in Banska Bystrica where 7th ranked Trencin (1-5) was crushed by second ranked Slavia BB (5-1) 201-16 on Saturday. Slavia BB held Trencin to an opponent 11.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 57.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Slavia BB forced 84 Trencin turnovers and outrebounded them 56-25 including a 35-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 57 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by Trencin's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Slavia BB made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was Serbian Snezana Bogicevic (183-1997) who had a triple-double by scoring 64 points (!!!), 24 rebounds, 9 assists and 16 steals. International Natalia Martiskova (170-1999) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 45 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 15 assists and 13 steals. Five Slavia BB players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Sona Mamrakova (-2002) who recorded 7 points and 10 rebounds and Sofia Barboricova (-2002) added 3 points respectively. Trencin's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Slavia BB keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Piestanske C. Newly promoted Trencin keeps the seventh place with five games lost. Slavia BB's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Banska Bystrica to the arena UMB BB.
