Regular Season Round 8: Katowice - Pelplin 68-75

There was no surprise in Katowice where 16th ranked Mickiewicz (2-6) was defeated by twelfth ranked Decka (4-4) 75-68 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tymon Szymanski (200-2001) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Thomas Davis (198, college: SWOSU) who added 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Decka players scored in double figures. Forward Stanislaw Helinski (198-2000) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Kajetan Kuczawski (180-2005) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Decka moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Mickiewicz keeps the sixteenth position with six games lost. Decka will meet at home higher ranked Kociewskie Diably (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mickiewicz will play against GKS (#13) in Tychy and hope to secure a win.
