Regular Season Round 3: Tindastoll - Stjarnan 2 85-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Tindastoll's (1-2) home victory over Stjarnan 2 (0-2) in Sauoarkrokur 85-65 on Saturday. Tindastoll dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Stjarnan 2's 34. They outrebounded Stjarnan 2 55-35 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tindastoll looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Stjarnan 2's players. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian guard Ifunaya Okoro (183-1999) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Eva Dagsdottir (159-2003) accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Forward Elisabet Olafsdottir (182-2007) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Bo Guttormsdottir-Frost (183-2008) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Stjarnan 2 in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tindastoll will meet Armann in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stjarnan 2 will play against KR in Reykjavik and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
