No shocking result in a game in Barendecht where third ranked Binnenland (5-1) smashed 7th ranked Leiden (1-6) 80-55. Binnenland dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Leiden's 22. They outrebounded Leiden 36-22 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Marlou De Kleijn (183-1992) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. The former international center Eline Kasius (190-1992) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Binnenland players scored in double figures. Point guard Kim Schrama (168-2003) answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian forward Emma Kiesekamp (185, college: Carleton) added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Leiden. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Binnenland moved-up to second place, which they share with Landslake. Leiden lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Binnenland will play against league's leader Grasshoppers in Katwijk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leiden will play at home against BAL Weert (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
