Regular Season Round 4: Chartres - Montbrison 54-62

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Montbrison and 9th ranked Chartres had identical 1-2 record. But Chartres was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Montbrison 62-54 on Saturday night. The winners were led by Portuguese forward Laura Ferreira (180-1995, college: S.Florida) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 steals and American forward Kendall Cooper (193-1995, college: Duke) supported her with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Montbrison players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by point guard Emma Peytour-Raison (172-2000) did not help to save the game for Chartres. Point guard Elise Marie (164-1995) added 5 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Montbrison (2-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Chartres at the other side keeps the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Nice and SIG. Montbrison will meet at home SIG (#11) in the next round where they are favorite. Chartres will play against Champagne in Reims and hope to win that game.
