Regular Season Round 9: Saint Quentin - Limoges 75-83
Date: October 29, 2023
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Saint-Quentin (4-4) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Limoges CSP Elite (5-4) 83-75 on Sunday. Limoges CSP Elite looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international power forward Alexandre Chassang (203-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. The former international swingman Nicolas Lang (198-1990) chipped in 18 points. Four Limoges CSP Elite players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Mathis Dossou-Yovo (205-2000) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Lucas Boucaud (188-2000) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Saint-Quentin's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Limoges CSP Elite moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Blois and Nanterre. Newly promoted Saint-Quentin dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Limoges CSP Elite will meet at home higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saint-Quentin will play against JSF Nanterre (#7) and hope to secure a win.
