Regular Season Round 8: Kalmar - Ockelbo 78-88

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Kalmar (1-7) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Ockelbo (3-6) 88-78 on Sunday. Ockelbo dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kalmar's 30. Ockelbo forced 26 Kalmar turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Edvin Jonsson (183-1996) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists and Max Lundstrom (202-1999) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Malte Eriksson responded with 28 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian point guard Matiss Indriksons (188-2001) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Ockelbo and four Kalmar players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Ockelbo moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Kalmar stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Ockelbo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kalmar will play against RIG Mark (#13) and hope to win that game.
