There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Agrigento (2-4) beat at home 8th ranked Luiss Roma (2-4) 70-62 on Sunday. They outrebounded Luiss Roma 40-26 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Lorenzo Ambrosin (195-1997) who scored 28 points and 9 rebounds. American power forward Jacob Polakovich (208-2000, college: S.Indiana) chipped in 7 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian Anrijs Miska (208-2000) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and forward Valerio Cucci (202-1995) added 14 points and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Agrigento moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Luiss Roma. Luiss Roma lost fourth consecutive game. Agrigento will meet higher ranked Trapani (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Luiss Roma will play against Latina (#12) and hope to secure a win.
