Regular Season Round 4: Gdynia - Sosnowiec 83-63

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Sosnowiec (3-1) against fourth ranked Gdynia (3-1) on Sunday night. Visiting Sosnowiec was crushed by Gdynia in Gdynia 83-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sosnowiec. They outrebounded Sosnowiec 40-23 including 30 on the defensive glass. Gdynia brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovakian guard Barbora Wrzesinski (178-1994) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 assists. American guard Rennia Davis (188-1999, college: Tennessee) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Ghanian-American forward Batabe Zempare (191-1994, college: CSUB, agency: LBM Management) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and French guard Zoe Wadoux (178-2001) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Sosnowiec. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gdynia moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Sosnowiec. Gdynia will play against league's leader Gorzow Wlkp. in Gorzow Wielkopolski in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sosnowiec will play at home against Polonia W-wa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
