The biggest surprise took place in Mahon where host Menorca (2-3) beat league's leader Coruna (4-1) 56-51 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Coruna. Menorca made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Coruna 41-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Menorca made 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Coruna helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Diego Alderete (197-2000) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Senegalese-American guard Clevin Hannah (179-1987, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 16 points.
