Regular Season Round 7: Forli - Cividale 84-78
Date: November 1, 2023
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Forli (6-1) defeated at home 10th ranked Cividale (2-5) 84-78 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Forli dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cividale's 20 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Strangely Cividale outrebounded Forli 49-35 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American Xavier Johnson (201-1993, college: Colorado) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Kadeem Allen (187-1993, college: Arizona) helped adding 25 points. Forli's coach Antimo Martino used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Gabriele Miani (202-2000, agency: SLN) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian point guard Lucio Redivo (183-1994) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Forli. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Cantu and Trapani. Cividale lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Forli will meet Verona (#4) on the road in the next round. Cividale will play against Rimini (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
