Everything could happen in Akureyri at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh rankedThor AK and 10th ranked Hrunamenn had identical 1-4 record. This time Thor AK used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Fludir 105-83 . Thor AK dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Hrunamenn 's 34. Thor AK forced 20 Hrunamenn turnovers and outrebounded them 48-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Thor AK players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Hrunamenn 's players. It was a good game for Hungarian-American power forward Jason Gigliotti (203-1999, college: UM-Dearborn) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Reynir Robertsson (186) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Thor AK players scored in double figures. Thor AK's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Chance Hunter (198-1998, college: Cal Poly) replied with 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Finnish center Aleksi Liukko (211-1999) added 18 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for Hrunamenn. Thor AK (2-4) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with IA and Selfoss. Hrunamenn lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Snaefell and Armann.
