Rather predictable result in Torun where seventh rankedTrefl (5-4) defeated 11th ranked Twarde Pierniki (3-6) 80-69 on Friday. Trefl looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Hungarian guard Benedek Varadi (194-1995) who scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian Aaron Best (193-1992, college: TMU) chipped in 14 points. Five Trefl players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian point guard Goran Filipovic (183-1996, agency: 011 Sports) who recorded 18 points and 5 assists and American Arik Smith (185-1993, college: Cal Lutheran, agency: Players Group) added 19 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Trefl . They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Legia and Stal. Twarde Pierniki lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with GTK.
