No shocking result in a game when eighth rankedGran Canaria (6-4) beat on the road 15th ranked Zaragoza (3-7) 101-94 on Saturday. Gran Canaria looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Argentinian Nicolas Brussino (205-1993) notched 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and American power forward Ethan Happ (208-1996, college: Wisconsin) supported him with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 17 points by American Mark Smith (193-1999, college: Kansas St.) did not help to save the game for Zaragoza . Bosnian-Finnish power forward Emir Sulejmanovic (205-1995) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Manresa and Girona. Loser Zaragoza keeps the fifteenth position with seven games lost. Gran Canaria will meet at home Lenovo Tenerife (#11) in the next round where they are favorite. Zaragoza will play against Breogan Lugo (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
