Regular Season Round 6: Torun - Wroclaw 71-94

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Torun (1-5) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Wroclaw (4-1) 94-71 on Sunday. Wroclaw looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Alexa Held (178-1999, college: DePaul) who scored 36 points (!!!) and 6 assists. The other American import guard Angel Baker (173-2000, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was DR Congolese power forward La Mama Kapinga-Maweja (194-1997, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Asia Strong (188-2000, college: Syracuse) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Wroclaw have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Torun lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Poznan. Wroclaw will meet at home Gdynia (#5) in the next round. Torun will play against the league's leader Polkowice (#1) and hope to win that game.
