Regular Season Round 10: Vilpas - Lahti 103-99 OT

Lahti (#11) forced the game against Vilpas (#9) into an overtime, but lost by four points 99-103 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime then Lahti managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Vilpas who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-9. They made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Tyree Eady (196-1999, college: N.Texas) scored 22 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward DeAndre Dishman (198-1998, college: MTSU) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward James Padgett (203-1991, college: Maryland) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Harrison Cleary (185-1997, college: UMC) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 assists. Five Vilpas and four Lahti players scored in double figures. Lahti's coach Tom Cooman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vilpas (5-5) moved-up to seventh place. Lahti lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Bisons. Vilpas will meet higher ranked Kobrat (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lahti will play against Kataja (#5) and hope to secure a win.
