No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Lumezzane (4-7) beat on the road 13th ranked Padova V. (4-7) 82-75 on Wednesday. Lumezzane dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Padova V.'s 30. They outrebounded Padova V. 37-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Andrea Cecchi (196-2005) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Finnish guard Trey Niemi (185-1998) accounted for 16 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Guard Andrea Scanzi (190-1988) came up with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Lorenzo Molinaro (204-1992) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for Padova V. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Lumezzane went down to twelfth position due to points difference, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Padova V.. Padova V. lost third consecutive game. Lumezzane will meet at home Taranto (#17) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Padova V. will play against the league's second-placed Roseto (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
