Regular Season Round 8: PuHu Juniorit - HyPo 108-64

Very expected game when 7th rankedHyPo (1-7) was smashed by second ranked PuHu Juniorit (6-1) in Vantaa 108-64 on Friday. The game without a history. PuHu Juniorit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo 's 36 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. PuHu Juniorit forced 21 HyPo turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by HyPo 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when PuHu Juniorit made 11 blocks. The winners were led by point guard Valtteri Leino (183-1995) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 assists and power forward Tony Rautiainen (194-2001) supported him with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five PuHu Juniorit players scored in double figures. PuHu Juniorit's coach Mikko Larkas felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals by guard Sami Marouf (188-1988) did not help to save the game for HyPo . Swingman Antti Mattila (201-2005) added 14 points for the guests. PuHu Juniorit have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Karkkila. Loser HyPo keeps the seventh place with seven games lost.
