Regular Season Round 8: AEK - PAOK 90-70

There was a minor upset in Athens where one of their biggest challengersPAOK (4-4) was crushed by seventh ranked AEK (4-4) 90-70 on Saturday. AEK made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian power forward Mfiondu Kabengele (207-1997, college: FSU) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). American guard Chasson Randle (188-1993, college: Stanford) chipped in 21 points. AEK's coach Joan Plaza used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Justin Alston (203-1994, college: Boston U.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Andrew Harrison (198-1994, college: Kentucky) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. AEK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated PAOK . AEK will meet higher ranked Promitheas (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. PAOK will play against Kolossos HH and hope to secure a win.
