Regular Season Round 9: Xativa - Benidorm 74-85

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Xativa (2-6) lost to third ranked Benidorm (7-1) in Valencia 74-85 on Sunday. Benidorm looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Dario Zaragozi (182-1996) nailed 20 points and 6 assists for the winning side and American-British center Kaj-Bjorn Sherman (213-1992, college: UTSA, agency: Helping Ballers) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Miguel Raez (200-1979) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Sergio Vidal (194-1988) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Xativa in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Xativa's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Benidorm keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Coria and El Pinar. Newly promoted Xativa dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Benidorm will meet at home league's second-placed Gandia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Xativa will play against Murcia 2 (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
