Regular Season Round 9: TuNMKY - ToPo Juniorit 79-101

Bottom-rankedTuNMKY (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-79 loss to fourth ranked ToPo Juniorit (7-2) in Turun. It looked good early as TuNMKY took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then ToPo Juniorit had a 25-12 second period charge getting the lead and TuNMKY was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-101. ToPo Juniorit made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by TuNMKY 's players. It was a good game for forward Eldar Skamo (198) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Alvar Michelsen (197) contributed with 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Matias Suomela (190-2004) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and swingman Wille Nordell (197) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for TuNMKY. Four ToPo Juniorit and five TuNMKY players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for ToPo Juniorit . They maintain fourth place with 7-2 record. TuNMKY lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost.
