Regular Season Round 9: Kipina - HBA-Marsky 82-64

There was no surprise in Aanekoski where 6th rankedHBA-Marsky (3-6) was defeated by fourth ranked Kipina (7-1) 82-64 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Kipina. HBA-Marsky managed to win fourth quarter 21-17 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kipina forced 21 HBA-Marsky turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Nathaniel Pollard Jr (196-2000, college: UMES) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks for the winners and forward Sami Mantymaa (193-1988) chipped in 17 points. Pollard Jr. is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was forward Olavi Suutela (203-2006) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Samu Adler (188-2007) scored 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kipina . They moved-up to second place, which they share with JBA. HBA-Marsky lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Oulun Bball and RaPy.
