The game had a very big importance for second-rankedSabah as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sabah defeated 5th ranked Jalilabad in Baku 107-89 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jalilabad. Sabah looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Jalilabad 's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Desmond Cambridge Jr (193-1998, college: Arizona St.) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Ender Poladkhanli (198-1998) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Sabah players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Georgian Levan Gogaladze (197-1997, agency: BIG) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Jamani Pierce (200-1996, college: ENMU) added 19 points respectively. Jalilabad's coach Shahriyar Asgerov rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Jalilabad keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Jalilabad will play next round against Gence trying to get back on the winning streak. Sabah will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Sheki on the road.
