Regular Season Round 12: Chieti - Mestre 70-67

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Mestre (5-7) was edged on the road by seventh ranked Chieti (7-5) 70-67 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The winners were led by point guard Roberto Maggio (183-1990) who scored that evening 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Leonardo Ciribeni (190-1992) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 21 points and 9 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) by power forward Giovanni Lenti (200-1996, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Mestre. Andrea Mazzuchelli added 21 points. Chieti moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Mestre keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Chieti will meet Ozzano (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mestre will play against Fabriano (#6) and hope to secure a win.
