Everything went according to plan when seventh rankedAfula (2-2) outplayed at home bottom-ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (0-2) 105-65 on Thursday. H.Afula dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Jerusalem 's 40. H.Afula forced 22 H.Jerusalem turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including 31 on the defensive glass. H.Afula looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Marcellus Earlington (201-2000, college: San Diego) nailed 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Cameron Shelton (188-1999, college: LMU) accounted for 16 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. Four Afula players scored in double figures. The former international forward Oz Blayzer (199-1992) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Yovel Zoosman (200-1998) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for H.Jerusalem in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. H.Afula moved-up to third place. Loser Hapoel Jerusalem still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with H.Be'er Sheva and H.Eilat.
