Eighth-rankedThor (3-7) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Sindri (8-2) in Akureyri on Friday. The visitors from Hofn managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73 . However their fans expected much easier game. Sindri outrebounded Thor 53-40 including 38 on the defensive glass. Sindri looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish forward Juan Luis Navarro (198-1991) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Sam Prescott (190-1990, college: Mt.St.Mary's) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Harrison Butler (196, college: SUU) replied with 27 points and 8 rebounds and Hungarian-American power forward Jason Gigliotti (203-1999, college: UM-Dearborn) added 20 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Thor. Four Thor players scored in double figures. Thor AK's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sindri have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with KR and Fjolnir. Thor at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost.
