Regular Season Round 11: Araski - Bembibre 60-50

Bottom-ranked Bembibre (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 60-50 loss to twelfth ranked Araski (5-6) in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Saturday evening. Araski outrebounded Bembibre 43-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Argentinian point guard Melisa Gretter (166-1993) who led her team to a victory scoring 5 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Laura Aliaga (182-1994) helped adding 15 points. American-Dominican guard Dominique Toussaint (175-1998, college: Virginia) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and American-Ugandan guard Jannon Otto (183-1997, college: UC Riverside) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Araski moved-up to ninth place. Bembibre lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. Araski will meet higher ranked Valencia (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bembibre will play against Celta Zorka (#15) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
