Regular Season Round 15: Gravelines - Strasbourg 73-90

Date: December 9, 2023
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Strasbourg and 10th ranked Gravelines had identical 8-6 record. But Gravelines was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Strasbourg 90-73 on Saturday night. Strasbourg dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Gravelines' 38. They outrebounded Gravelines 47-26 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Bastien Rieber (187-2005) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Hugo Bonaton (195-2005) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. Four Strasbourg players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Hugo Boumpoutou (200-2004) who recorded 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Roman Domon (207-2005) added 17 points respectively. Gravelines' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Strasbourg (9-6) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with ASVEL and Cholet. Loser Gravelines keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Blois. Strasbourg will meet at home Levallois (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gravelines will play against the league's second-placed Nanterre where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
