Rather expected game in Madrid where 9th rankedCadi La Seu (4-7) was defeated by seventh ranked Estudiantes (6-5) 76-58 on Saturday. Estudiantes forced 20 Cadi La Seu turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Estudiantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Belgian center Billie Massey (184-2000) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Maria Erauncetamurguil (185-1998) helped adding 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Leigha Brown (185-2000, college: Michigan) responded with 18 points and Slovakian forward Veronika Remenarova (188-1997) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Estudiantes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ensino and IDK Eustotren. Loser Cadi La Seu dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Estudiantes will meet higher ranked Girona (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cadi La Seu will play against Jairis (#13) and hope to secure a win.
