Regular Season Round 14: Monferrato - Vigevano 86-61

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Monferrato (4-10) crushed 8th ranked Vigevano (4-10) in Casale 86-61 on Sunday. Monferrato looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Vigevano's players. Naturalized American Dalton Pepper (197-1990, college: Temple, agency: SLN) notched 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Andrea Calzavara (195-2001) supported him with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Monferrato players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Ike Smith (193-1997, college: Georgia South) did not help to save the game for Vigevano. His fellow American import Tyler Wideman (203-1995, college: Butler) added 8 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Monferrato moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Vigevano. Vigevano lost third consecutive game. Monferrato will meet Agrigento (#10) on the road in the next round. Vigevano will play against Milano Urania and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
