Rather predictable result when second rankedSchio (8-1) won against at home 5th ranked San Martino (6-3) 74-67 on Sunday. Schio looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Robyn Parks (185-1992, college: VCU) who led the winners and scored 21 points. Puerto Rican-American point guard Arella Guirantes (181-1997, college: Rutgers) accounted for 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Schio's coach Georgios Dikaioulakos used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Stephanie Kostowicz (188-1995, college: Milwaukee) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and Serbian-French Lidija Turcinovic (176-1994) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for San Martino in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Schio . Defending champion maintains second place with 8-1 record having just three points less than leader Venezia. Loser San Martino keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with San Giovanni.
