Important game to mention about took place in Mont de Marsan. Fourth rankedLandes (7-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Villeneuve (8-2) 66-64 on Sunday evening. German center Luisa Geiselsoeder (192-2000) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Alexis Peterson (173-1995, college: Syracuse) supported her with 18 points and 5 assists. Landes' coach Julie Barennes allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Kennedy Burke (185-1997, college: UCLA) did not help to save the game for Villeneuve . Her fellow American import guard Kamiah Smalls (178-1998, college: JMU) added 9 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Landes moved-up to third place, which they share with BLMA. Villeneuve at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Landes will play against bottom-ranked Bretagne (#12) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Villeneuve will play at home against Hainaut (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
