Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Sassari (6-5) defeated on the road 11th ranked Faenza (2-9) 74-68. Sassari forced 21 Faenza turnovers. The winners were led by Serbian-Cypriot forward Ivana Raca (189-1999, college: Wake Forest) who scored that evening 27 points and Polish center Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk (188-1989) supported her with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sassari players scored in double figures. Even 16 points by the former international forward Marzia Tagliamento (183-1996) did not help to save the game for Faenza. Slovenian Tina Cvijanovic (180-1998) added 15 points and 4 steals. Sassari have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place. Faenza lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Sassari will play against higher ranked San Martino (#6) in San Martino di L in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Faenza will have a break next round.
